About us

Western Star Cowboy Church in Springtown Texas
A Non-denominational Church Founded in 2009

Mission Statement

The mission of the Western Star Cowboy Church is to reach the Rural/Western heritage community and those who love its culture, for Jesus Christ. In following with the great commission (Math 28:16-20), this church embraces that culture and seeks to remove barriers that have traditionally kept those within the culture from being reached with The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What we believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His blood, in His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe that men are saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe that baptism is the means by which people are to publicly profess their faith in Christ and identify themselves with His death, burial and resurrection.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
The church will accomplish this mission by holding to these values:
Simplicity - The church will strive to keep all things it does as simple as possible.
Non-judgmental approach - The church will foster a non-judgmental atmosphere in all it does, accepting people just as they are, just as Christ himself does.
Cultural relevance/Western Heritage - The church will make sure that all it does, including all of its programming and ministries will be geared toward reaching people in the western culture and those who love it.
Practice of Biblical Christianity - The church will practice biblical Christianity. The leadership and the congregation will practice this.
Elimination of barriers to the cowboy culture - The church will do all that it can to lower or eliminate the barriers preventing the Gospel of Jesus Christ from reaching the western culture.
Empowerment with Accountability - The church will strive to empower as many people as it can to serve Christ through the church and bring out the gifts in them while holding them accountable for their actions and commitments.
Power of the Gospel - The church believes in the power of the gospel for salvation of souls and healing of body, mind and spirit.

Statement of Faith

Our Non-denomination Stands on the Believe of the Holy Bible in its complete writings of the Old Testament. Our belief in Jesus Christ for He is the Son of God the Father above all as we believe in the Holy Trinity. When God gave us the teachings, The Bible, he gave us everything we need to live by.
We are a community of Christians brought together by the Holy Spirit, to which our messages are brought by the authority of God's truth. Romans 10:17 " So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ" (NAS)
Jesus Christ that saves the lost and grows the saved into Spiritual maturity. 2 Peter 1:21 "for no prophecy was ever made by enact of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God" (NAS)

What to Expect

Sunday Gatherin' is our worship service, with a “come-as-you-are” rule, and consists of announcements, prayer and praise requests, music and a message/sermon. There is no alter call nor is a collection plate passed. There is a bucket (called the feed bucket) as you enter the sanctuary where tithes and offerings are collected. Country, western, or bluegrass music and singing is provided by our band. People wear hats during the service, and men remove them during prayers.
The Lord’s Supper is offered the first Sunday of each month. We invite anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to partake. Partaking of the bread and fruit of the vine, which memorializes the death of our Redeemer, and anticipates His second coming is an act of obedience.
Baptism is done through immersion in our horse trough. It is a biblical action that symbolizes the believers death to sin, burial of the old life and resurrection in a new life marked by walking in Jesus Christ.
